Along with amethyst, tourmaline is perhaps one of the very top most popular of crystals… Why? It is famously said to ward off negative energy & negativity directed at & around a person carrying or placing it near them. In doing so it fosters feelings & thoughts which are positive, but it is perhaps the number one most popular & best known protector crystal. It isn’t a looker usually in its rough form, in which case it is usually a plain black crystal, sometimes shiny as it is when tumbled, so it is an unassuming looking stone. It can however come in other colors such as green & pink but black is most common while other colors are usually more expensive. And them you get tourmaline cut & polished gemstones which can be very expensive, but plain black rough tourmaline remains one of the most popular & effective most affordable of the very top crystals & is also often a great stone to start off with.
